By Fingerpicking Staff
October 8, 2010

U.S.-based journalist Anil Prasad, contributor to Guitar Player and Bass Player, but above all, the author and publisher of the fantastic online music magazine Innerviews, has published a book chronicling his encounters with renowned musicians from across the world. These encounters are much more than simple interviews. In his Innerviews: Music Without Borders book, Prasad has created rich, passionate portraits of artists who reflect on their music and the state of today’s music industry.

The list of interviewed artists include: Jon Anderson, Bill Bruford, Björk, Martin Carthy, Stanley Clarke, Chuck D, Ani DiFranco, Béla Fleck, Michael Hedges, Jonas Hellborg, Zakir Hussain, Leo Kottke, Bill Laswell, John McLaughlin, Noa, David Sylvian, Tangerine Dream, David Torn, Ralph Towner, McCoy Tyner, Eberhard Weber, Chris Whitley, Victor Wooten, and Joe Zawinul.

Anil Prasad’s history as a music journalist is now featured in JazzTimes. For once, the interviewer is the interviewee. The topics include “the art of the interview” and the future of online music journalism.
